 Line About Porters Lake Management District
What is a Lake Management District?  A lake district is a special purpose
unit of government who's purpose is to maintain, protect and improve the quality of a lake and its watershed for the mutual good of the members and
the lake environment.

Who is in the District?  The boundaries usually include the property of all riparian owners and can include off-lake property that benefits from the lake
or affects the lake's watershed. 

Who are our District Officers?  Our current officers are:

  • Don Dalton, President
  • Kris Helms, Secretary
  • Skip Hansen, Treasurer

Is there an annual meeting? Yes, there is an annual meeting each summer.  Notice of the meeting is printed in the local newspaper and is mailed to property owners.  Meeting information will be posted on the Calendar page
of this site as soon as it becomes available.

What are current issues being addressed by the District?
    • Eurasian Watermilfoil (EWM) – Paul Skawinski of Golden Sands RC&D presented a power point presentation on Volunteer-led Euarasian Watermilfoil Management featuring Porters Lake at the 2014 Lakes Conference. (Click Here for PDF)
